STG Health Services Inc. (“STG Health,” referred to as “we” or “us”) last updated these Terms of Use (“Terms”) on September 12, 2024. The current version of these Terms can be accessed at www.sasktherapy.com/terms-of-use or www.saskadhd.com/terms-of-use. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time to account for changes in applicable law, in our practices, or in the services offered through the STG Health Platform (“Platform”). This Platform may be provided or be accessible via our websites or any related applications, including, without limitation, www.sasktherapy.com and www.saskadhd.com (together, the “Sites”) and any associated mobile app. Please check back to see if we have amended the Terms since you last used our Platform. We may (but are not obligated to) post notice of amendments. By using the Platform after any amendments take effect, you agree to comply with and be bound by the amended Terms.
1. The STG Health Platform and Services
STG Health owns and operates a proprietary information technology platform consisting of software, websites, applications, Content, products, and services (collectively referred to as the “STG Health Platform”). The STG Health Platform enables registered users (“Users,” “you,” “your”) to access mental health and related healthcare services provided by healthcare professionals who are licensed or otherwise authorized to practice in Saskatchewan or other provinces/territories of Canada, as applicable (collectively, “Authorized Healthcare Professionals”).
STG Health’s core services focus on psychological assessments, counseling, and psychotherapy. Where necessary or appropriate, health care services may also be provided by a nurse practitioner through the STG Health Platform.
Telehealth involves delivering healthcare through secure text, audio, and/or video communication, where you and the Authorized Healthcare Professional are not in the same physical location. Telehealth services provided through the STG Health Platform (“Healthcare Services”) may be used to diagnose, treat, follow up, and/or provide related patient education. These services may include but are not limited to the electronic transmission of medical records, personal information, or personal health information (collectively referred to as “Personal Information”), and, when applicable, the issuance of prescriptions or other documents.
By becoming a User, you acknowledge and consent to Authorized Healthcare Professionals providing Healthcare Services through the STG Health Platform. If prescriptions are deemed necessary by a nurse practitioner, they may be transmitted electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.
2. Eligibility and Availability of the STG Health Platform
STG Health is located in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, and makes the STG Health Platform primarily available to residents of Saskatchewan. If you reside outside of Saskatchewan, the availability of our services may be subject to provincial or territorial regulations.
To open an account (“Account”) and use the STG Health Platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction);
- Possess the legal authority to enter into a binding legal obligation;
- Register with STG Health as outlined on our Sites or via the STG Health Platform.
STG Health assumes no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store or provide any Content maintained or transmitted by the Platform. STG Health reserves the right, at any time, to modify, suspend, or discontinue the STG Health Platform (or any part thereof) with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuance.
3. Nature and Scope of Healthcare Services
Relationship with Authorized Healthcare Professionals:
Only regulated healthcare professionals may provide Healthcare Services through the STG Health Platform. This includes (but is not limited to) psychologists, psychotherapists, and nurse practitioners licensed in Saskatchewan or other relevant Canadian jurisdictions.Telehealth Licensing Requirements:
Telehealth rules vary by province or territory. Depending on where you reside or your location at the time services are requested, an Authorized Healthcare Professional may be located outside your immediate region but still be licensed to practice in Saskatchewan or your province/territory. We display or can make available information on the professional’s licensing and jurisdiction on our Sites or upon request.To report concerns or complaints about any Healthcare Services you receive through the Platform, please contact the professional regulatory college(s) in the province(s) where services were provided.
Not a Replacement for Primary Care or Emergency Services:
STG Health strongly encourages you to maintain a relationship with a primary care provider. We do not send reports of your Healthcare Services to your primary care provider unless explicitly requested by you. Should you choose, the STG Health Platform can facilitate sending a summary of your services to any other provider of your choice.
4. Healthcare Services Terms of Use
As a condition of accessing Healthcare Services through the STG Health Platform, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
The STG Health Platform is a technology platform that connects Users with Authorized Healthcare Professionals for the provision of Healthcare Services. While STG Health facilitates this connection, we are not ourselves registered to provide direct healthcare services.
Authorized Healthcare Professionals are independent third parties who choose to utilize the STG Health Platform. They are not employees or agents of STG Health, and they hold full responsibility for meeting professional standards of care, recordkeeping, and other professional obligations.
Diagnoses, treatments, prescriptions, and other Healthcare Services provided are solely at the discretion of the Authorized Healthcare Professional. They may, at their sole discretion, refuse or discontinue services if misuse or other inappropriate behavior is suspected.
No results can be guaranteed in connection with any Healthcare Services. Healthcare Professionals may determine telehealth is not appropriate for all treatment needs and may refer you to in-person services if needed.
There are inherent risks in telehealth, particularly regarding the electronic transmission and storage of Personal Information. Please review our Privacy Policy and any Consent to Virtual Care and Electronic Communications documents, which form part of these Terms.
The STG Health Platform is not an emergency service. If you think you may be experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
Certain clinical issues or medications (including controlled substances or narcotics) may not be addressed or prescribed through our telehealth services. Prescriptions, if issued, are for the personal use of the individual named on the prescription.
Should you experience medication reactions or side effects (when applicable), you agree to consult with your primary care provider, another clinic, or an emergency service (call 911 if warranted).
